One thing to consider: if a product design isn’t patented at all, especially in the country of production or sale, there isn’t really anything illegal about copying it. Getting patents for those useful tools would probably necessitate a much higher price in order to recoup costs though.
I didn't say what was happening was illegal, and my apologies if that was implied. It most certainly is unethical, though, and also just downright crummy.
Re: Vintage saddles - I bought several Selle San Marco Rolls saddles from when they were reissued 15 years ago and they remain the most comfortable saddles I've ever used.
Bonus: they look very, very, very cool and period correct on vintage steel builds. The Turbos look spot on too.
Downsides: they weigh twice that of a modern saddle (probably more) and because of the side panel design carried over from stretched leather designs you can only use the rear half of the rails.
OG Flite saddles are a staple in the masters fields.
Certainly not opposed to the idea, but I'm not sure I'd be able to speak from a position of authority as I have very limited experience with dynamo lights and hubs.
F1/motorsports learned the CFD vs wind tunnel correlation issues years ago. Years ago one of the new teams claimed they didn’t need to use a wind tunnel and did all of the development with CFD. Utter failure on the track.
Heck, F1 teams still have trouble with wind tunnel vs track correlation, let alone CFD

I’ll take my bike prechilled, please.
Would you ever consider doing a generator light test? https://www.renehersecycles.com/how-to-set-up-a-generator-hub/
Seems like it could be an extension of your winter season riding solution(s) theme…

It’s a shame that people are ripping off Chris. I’ve bought a bunch of his gadgets and love them all. They are well thought out.
Yep. Aliexpress is full of fakes & blatant knock offs. I won’t buy from them unless it’s something I can’t find elsewhere (which is pretty rare).

Yup, and the modern ground-effects era has only further highlighted those difficulties.
Can you say Mercedes? They learned the hard way this season.
And last season, and the season before that.
